Who we are

Newhive Studios is a video production and growth marketing studio operating from 9850 King George Blvd, Surrey, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and in the course of client work, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

We are subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you contact us. The contact form on this site asks for your name, email address, company and a description of what you are working on. If you phone or email instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us. This is the only information this website asks you for.

When you visit. Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — which are used to keep the site running and secure. If analytics are enabled, they record aggregate usage such as which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors are located.

When you become a client. Running campaigns on your behalf means we may be given access to your advertising and analytics accounts, and we hold ordinary business contact and billing details. We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect anything from children.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry and to work out whether we are the right studio for what you need. To deliver work you have engaged us for, including buying and reporting on media. To invoice you. To keep the site secure and working. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who else sees it

Form submissions are delivered to us through a third-party form provider, and our website is served by a third-party hosting provider — both process data on our behalf under their own terms.

For client work we use advertising and analytics platforms including Meta, Google, YouTube and TikTok. Where we operate your accounts, information flows through those platforms under their policies rather than ours.

We may disclose information if we are legally required to. Otherwise we disclose it to no one.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and some imagery is served from third-party image hosts, which means those providers receive your IP address as part of serving the file — that is a normal consequence of loading any external resource on the web.

If we add analytics or an advertising pixel later, this section will be updated before it goes live.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to two years, so we recognise you if you come back, and then deleted. Client records are kept for seven years after the engagement ends, which is what Canadian tax and business record requirements call for. Server logs are kept for as long as our host retains them, typically a matter of weeks.

How it is protected

Access is limited to the people who need it to do the work. Accounts are protected with strong, unique credentials and multi-factor authentication where the platform supports it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — but if a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm, we would notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as PIPEDA requires.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent for us to use it. Ask by email and we will respond within thirty days, which is the timeframe PIPEDA sets.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy question, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
